A 35 year male came to kayachikitsa OPD at Govt. Ayu. College, Vadodara on 18th January 2016 with past h/o recurrent jaundice in 1995 and 2003 presenting the complaint of pain in epigestrium, on/off burning and abdominal heaviness and fullness aggravates many time after normal food intake. This was a well diagnosed case of Chronic Pancreatitis, suffering from said signs and symptoms for last 5 months. He has taken modern medicines but couldn't get relief. In first week of management, the intensity of pain reduced and gradually the patient got overall relief in signs and symptoms with the strict Pathya or dietary management.
On the basis of clinical presentation the Pitta-vatodar management was planned. Additionally Panchatikta Ghrita 10 ml. BD (empty stomach) advised.
Today the patient is symptom free. He doesn't has any complaint. Though he is only in symptom free condition but not disease free as per concept mentioned by Acharya Charaka....

Yesterday followup and reports
Patient is continue signs and symptoms free. latest USG shows the reduction in size of spleen while no changes in pancreas.
Latest followup on 30 November 2016
Fatty changes in pancrease became normal also spleen size reverted to absolutely normal. additionally fatty changes noted in liver. Though the patient is symptom free.

As per my view it is not chronic pancreatitis. Fatty infiltration is different. In chronic pancreatitis there is calcification or litheasis or degenerative changes or acute or chronic inflammatory changes appear. There are recurrent multiple emergency hospitalization also found.
ReplyDeleteIt was diagnosed by modern physician where he used to take medicine regularly. It was not possible to put all investigation reports here.
